Our Story: CREDAI Amravati
Origins and Early Years:
Before 2006, property shows in Amravati were mainly organized by banks. The Amravati Builders Association (ABA) was formed in 2006, with Shrikant Chaoji as its first president. The association held its first property show at Mehfil Inn, followed by the visionary "Samruddha Amravati" program, involving leaders from multiple fields to discuss development and social issues.
Growth and Recognition
(2006-2010):
The organization evolved, passing leadership to Mr. Shailesh Wankhade. ABA launched the “Best Building Award” conceptualized by Ram Mahajan, with the aim of setting new standards for construction quality and recognizing excellence among developers.
Becoming CREDAI Amravati
(2009-2012):
Inspired by a visit from CREDAI Maharashtra’s president - Santdasji Chawla, the idea of a local CREDAI chapter emerged. Key members engaged in discussions and meetings, ultimately affiliating ABA with CREDAI Amravati. Major issues addressed included navigating new VAT regulations and resolving costly, delayed electricity meter connections for builders.
Policy and Regulatory Leadership (2011-2018):
CREDAI Amravati played a crucial role in policy advocacy, from bylaw amendments and resolving land subdivision compliance (notably the “39R” issue) to setting a code of ethics. It was active during the introduction and implementation of RERA and GST, helping members transition smoothly.
Advocacy and Relief
(2015-2018):
The association successfully lobbied for MHADA reservation relief for smaller cities, directly benefiting Amravati’s urban planning. Members attended national and international conventions, gaining exposure to industry best practices.
Community and Social Responsibility
(2010s–Present):
CREDAI Amravati initiated ten years of "Welcome Point" maintenance, led water conservation drives under Jalyukta Shivar, dustbin distribution to promote cleanliness, partnered with the Vande Mataram Foundation on plantation efforts, promoted rainwater harvesting, and delivered PPE kits during the pandemic.
Recent Milestones and Forward Vision (2019–2025):
Recent leadership by Pankaj Deshmukh, Sanjay Parvatkar, Nilesh Thackeray and currently Rajen Patil, has seen continued community engagement, new property shows, keynote addresses, and the launch of a youth wing and the first "Youth Con." The association’s initiatives aim to further enrich real estate quality, ethics, member participation, and sustainable development.
Amravati is rapidly transforming—with IT parks, hospitals, hotels, malls, and new housing projects shaping the city’s future. CREDAI Amravati ensures that this growth happens responsibly, transparently, and in the best interest of both developers and citizens.
By aligning with CREDAI National’s core values of ethics, integrity, and accountability, we bring the trust and credibility that Amravati’s real estate sector deserves.
